Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument.
Many thanks for the comments yesterday. You don't actually climb--there is a hiking trail about 1.5 miles to the top. I didn't make it -- at about a mile, it dawned on me I had to get back down. Information about the formation from the Bureau of Land Management. You go from about 5500 feet to 6700 so it's uphill, with a few flat spots like shown in the photo. Sometimes you climb over boulders the size of those shown. The cone-shape formations in yesterday's picture are the result of volcanic activity from the Jemez volcano. Boulder caps are perched on the tapering hoodoos.
